Our Executive Officer & CTO have over 45 years of combined law enforcement, military and security industry experience.

Jose Lopez, (J. R.) our company’s President and CEO, immigrated to the U.S. as a young adult and has worked incessantly in self-development through extensive training and education. Jose has been involved in law enforcement for over 25 years and the security industry for more than 12 years now. He was a police supervisor (sergeant) for  10 years and a Lieutenant and Commanding Officer of an entire police division for his last three years in law enforcement. He has taken several courses in supervision, law enforcement management, and is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI) and command staff development. He has worked many assignments as an off-duty security officer including personal and property protection, surveillance, and assisting with loss prevention (asset protection) at retail chain stores.

Jose provided instruction of the School Security Campus Aide 24-hour state mandated course (SB1626) for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the Los Angeles School Police Department (LASPD) and has instructed the BSIS security guard curriculum through the LAUSD Adult School Branch program for several years. He has also taught numerous other law enforcement related classes like Driver Education, juvenile traffic school, and Character Counts!, Additionally, he was a First Aid and CPR/AED instructor with the LASPD.

Jose possesses a bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies and also earned a Masters degree in Emergency Services Administration from Cal State University Long Beach. He is a Homeland Security Agency instructor for the Incident Command System (ICS). and is also a POST Certified Academy Instructor, a BSIS instructor, an NRA, DOJ, and BSIS firearms instructor, and a BSIS baton instructor. He additionally holds a clear state teaching credential in law enforcement occupations, elementary and secondary social sciences, and ESL. .

Eduardo Lopez, our company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) was in the U.S. Army for over six years and retired as a a sergeant, serving one year in South Korea and two tours of active combat duty in Afghanistan. He possesses numerous certificates in computer and internet security and enjoys a high level of security clearance. Eduardo has been with our company from its formation in 2011.

• Our officers receive on-going training to keep them updated in their skills and motivated.
• Maximus Private Security also maintains copies of all training certificates in our employees’ files in our office.
• We also hire ex-military personnel for a higher level of security services if requested by our clients.

We seek to employ only the most responsible and knowledgeable personnel. Our officers received a background check through the FBI and DOJ and also clearance through Megan’s Law, to confirm their affinity to their chosen career.

Whether armed or unarmed, we ascertain our security guards possess any and all required certifications and training to ensure their skills and abilities will allow them to excel in the performance of their duties.

Any shortcomings are quickly addressed by providing them with solid training. They also receive any additional training deemed necessary to match any assignment as we tailor our services to our clients’ requests and needs.

The same is true of our off-duty and/or retired Law Enforcement Officers (ODOs). We only contract the ones we can trust to perform a superb job and deliver nothing less than top service to our clients. Our officers are seasoned and experienced officers in all aspects of law enforcement and come from a variety of areas and disciplines.
